When winter months are consecutively cold, the ice gets thick enough to walk on. Heck, people move houses out onto the ice so they have the luxuries of home while they fish. So walking out onto the Beaver Pond at Foley Mountain was never really going to put Joel or I in any danger….it’s pretty shallow to begin with. But it was totally cool to be out at the middle of the pond, photographing back towards the shoreline where the trees are. It’s just too bad the sky wasn’t a little more….dramatic. If you are keeping tabs, it was really cold.
